7/29/17 Showing at Amaral Studio/Gallery

Through the Woods
Now showing in "Illusions" at Raquel Amaral Studio/Gallery.  This piece started out very differently and developed a scary tone before I knew the theme of the show.  It is about 3 paintings with 8 layers of poured and applied acrylic paint.  The scull was not painted in.  It just happened.

Redefinedery

Redefinedery
Redefinedery

'Redefinedery' is now showing at the Georgia Galleria in Vallejo.  It shows the refinery at night, and how I have redefined it in my mind. When I was young in Martinez, I would often look at the refineries lit up at night.  I thought they looked like fairy castles.  As I grew up, I learned that they are not fairy.  They serve a purpose, but can pollute our air and water if not under proper care.  So, it is a lesson learned early, that all things have good and bad built into them.  This piece is a digitized picture that I put enlarged into two frames so that it looks like you are observing through a dirty window.  It has aspects of an abstract object but reflects some realism.
