Pouring Paint

I’ve been asked to describe my painting method.  A quick take is “I pour paint on the canvas”, but what I really mean is that I don’t paint, I sculpt paint and other media to attain the shape and texture desired on a flat surface.  I use house paint, artist’s acrylics, rust (made with steel wool and vinegar), sumie ink, and anything else that will help me get the look I am seeking. Sometimes I get what I want.  Other times, I don’t.  When I don’t, I will often paint over the parts I don’t like and start over.  Here is a link from the East Bay Times interview.  I think she did a pretty good job.
