The 'After' painting is the result of a 'redo'. When I started with Diane Williams and Chuck Potter, I was fascinated with texture (gravel), rust, and ink. I liked the result and displayed it for a while. But my style changed over the past years, and I decided to use the texture, but rework the composition. I stuck with ink and rust, but did more paint pouring. I think it is all the better for this.
BIG DEAL! I am changing my logo today. It is now Pour Moi (See left). Pour Moi is french for "For Me", and is a pun on my new approach to art. My main process is pouring paint. It is like sculpting with paint and I am continuing to explore it's nuances. Thanks for your support. Pat. Feel free to view my blog at pourmoiart.com
This week has inspired me to re-commit to my art. Saturday a couple
from Concord invited me into their home to 'try on' my art. They could
have purchased some large mass produced work from a local shop, but they
wanted to support the local art community by purchasing original art.
They bought some of my favorites. I hope this is an indication of the revitalization of the interest in collecting 'real' art.
